For this project our clients had recently re-sided their home and although it was much improved they felt it still lacked interest and wanted it to reflect their personal style. We suggested adding a patio and portico on the front of the house to build depth and add some natural wood tones for warmth. The entire portico structure was built from solid cedar and custom designed in-house. A faux copper metal roof was added along with copper gutters along the sides of the portico. They loved the arts and crafts style of building with exposed timbers and handcrafted joinery. The patio is stamped concrete for durability and ease of maintenance. A new garage door and trellis extended the motif across the entire front. The Moravian star pendant light and saltillo tile are accents taken from the interior of the house to create a cohesive feeling inside and out.
Although we did not completely redesign the kitchen our clients did feel it needed some updating as we were incorporating a new eco-friendly heated bamboo floor in the main living living space along with a spacious banquette for their new dining area. We installed pendant lighting over the distressed dining room table, a new lovely copper sink, new durable quartz counters a useful butcher block island and rich talavera tile backsplash with custom inset decorative tiles.
